My work sits across writing, cultural research, and collaborative creative projects.
I’m interested in how attention, taste, and cultural context shape creative output, and how clarity can be restored without overloading or over-directing.
I work both independently and in collaboration with artists, creative teams, and organisations across music, film, media, and culture.
-
I write regularly on Substack, publishing essays and ongoing notes on taste, attention, and cultural consumption (books, films, media etc) and how they shape creative life in an over-stimulated world. This writing functions as both an editorial practice and a research archive, exploring what holds attention, what drains it, and what’s worth engaging with more slowly.
Alongside this, I work as a freelance music and culture journalist, interviewing artists and composers including Max Richter, Ólafur Arnaulds and Dan Auerbach, with a focus on process, inspiration, context, and creative decision-making rather than promotion.
I also work directly with artists on written materials such as biographies and project texts, helping articulate tone, intent, and creative identity with clarity and restraint.
My background includes working in PR for creative directors and show designers, collaborating closely on narrative development and positioning. That experience continues to inform how I approach writing now: attentive to tone, context, and how creative work is framed.
-
I host a monthly radio show, curating music as a way of exploring tone, mood, and restraint. The show functions as a parallel practice to my writing, and as a public record of taste.
-
Alongside writing and radio, I work with creatives and teams on cultural and contextual research. This can include:
Developing reading and viewing references for creative projects
Supporting performers and creative teams with tone and context
Providing cultural research that informs creative direction without overwhelm
This work is designed to support clarity, alignment, and depth, particularly at early stages of development and around new projects.
-
I also work at early stages of creative direction, supporting projects through cultural reference and contextual research rather than execution.
This can include developing reference frameworks for artist worlds and visual identity, merchandise collections and physical outputs, launch moments, events, and release campaigns
This work focuses on tone, influence, and coherence, helping creative teams align around a shared visual and cultural language before moving into design, production, or delivery.
My background working closely with creative directors, designers, and artists means I’m comfortable operating within collaborative creative environments, contributing clarity and direction without overstepping into production.
-
I bring over a decade of experience working in the music industry, collaborating closely with artists and creative teams across PR, artist development, and creative strategy. This background informs how I work now: embedded, collaborative, and attuned to creative process.
